Seatability to unveil newly designed ‘Solace’ chair line at NeoCon
CHICAGO (June 3, 2008) – Seatability, the leading bungee chair manufacturer in the United States, today announced the introduction of the Solace chair line, an innovative and uniquely designed office chair line that incorporates new bungee band technology never before seen. The Solace will be officially unveiled at the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in downtown Chicago on June 9.
The Solace line uses Seatability’s patented flat-bungee technology, the Elasticity System, on both the seating and the lumbar portions of the chairs. Unlike traditional bungee cords, this system of elastic bands is able to individually contour to each unique user according to his or her body type and sitting preference. It creates the illusion of a surface with the supreme comfort, breathability and ergonomics of individual bungee bands. Solace’s bungee technology, combined with its unique style, makes it a truly imaginative new entry into the office chair industry.
“Solace is going to change the way people look at office chairs,” said Derek Perkins, CEO of Seatability. “Typically, office chairs are made of mesh or foam, but bungee chairs, especially the Solace line, are the next generation of chair. Our chairs are defined by the people who use them, and they normally include the young, trendy professionals that embrace creative and hip new products.”
Chairs in the Solace line are created to accent a variety of office spaces both contemporary and traditional. They feature higher backs with more bungee bands, translating into an enhanced level of comfort. Solace’s elegant design was developed by Bill Raftery, a multiple award-winning and highly recognized designer.
“The chairs’ results are everything I had hoped for,” said Mr. Raftery. “The direction is a little racy, but I’m convinced that its design is consistent with what people want. My other options all looked safer, and in turn, unexciting.”
The Solace line includes a high-back executive, mid-back task and a guest chair.
